See Rock City Birdhouse
For decades Rock City Gardens’ legacy of barn, billboard and birdhouse advertising has directed motorists up Lookout Mountain to “See Rock City.” In 1936, Garnet Carter gave Clark Byers a truck, some paint and a mission: to paint SEE ROCK CITY on every barn he could find. Byers built a miniature barn intending to sell it as a mailbox, but when the U.S. Postal Service wouldn’t allow this, he made it into a birdhouse instead. They were soon found outside homes and businesses nationwide, even overseas. See Rock City Birdhouses make the perfect cozy home for a wide variety of birds including the Carolina Wren, Tufted Titmouse, Carolina Chickadee, House Sparrow and Eastern Bluebirds. It will also attract the famous Purple Martin when mounted on a pole in open areas. The official See Rock City Birdhouse is easy to assemble and will make the perfect addition to your home and garden.
